Multi-Factor Authentication (“MFA”)
The Department has implemented a Multi-Factor Authentication (“MFA”) for users of certain applications. MFA is a secondary level security process which ensures that access to the Department’s systems are granted only to authorized users.
Process:
- Once you log into the DFS Portal, a computer-generated PIN will automatically be sent to your email.
- The email will be sent from noreply@dfs.ny.gov with a subject line that reads, “NYS DFS Portal - Temporary Security Code".
- Once received, this PIN must be copied and pasted into the "Security Code" field on the login page.
Troubleshooting:
- If you did not receive the code, please check your junk folder.
- If your client supports a trusted sender list please add noreply@dfs.ny.gov.
- If the above steps don't work and you haven't received a code within 5 minutes, try our support form.
